Just the Facts...
I obtained a degree in commercial art with a minor in fine art. I have always relished the idea of seeing my work in multiples
rather than one painting hanging on a wall in a gallery. Since I appreciate close attention to the efforts of presentation and detail, gift wrap and greeting cards were my focus when I started college. I envision walking into a shop and seeing my designs in the racks among all the others. How gratifying to have my art available on a surface that could be purchased and provide a hands-on
experience to be shared with others.
Design time spent working in and with print shops has given me expertise in many printing processes, knowledge of industry standards, and the importance of providing clean and print-ready files. My freelance graphic design career allows me to combine computer design with painting and drawing. The combination can be found on various surfaces such as greeting cards, package design, logos, printed marketing materials, and licensed garden decor products.
Using the hand-drawn line, layers and color, my designs are expressive yet graphic. Adding painterly strokes in watercolor and/or acrylic compliment the concept. Working with my clients I implement clever, resourceful ideas toward solutions for their projects. To keep the creative juices flowing and because nature continues to influence me, I spend time walking, bicycling, dancing in Zumba class, gardening and sketching with my husband on Sundays.
